Tomorrow's agenda holds :
Sound Effects
Background Music
Keyboard and Mouse Input
Lighting
Camera Movement

Once those are finished as far as thought processing, I can start the actual code and get a base application going.

I have a decent (Doesn't look very pretty yet) organization to my Ideas and Thoughts. I used Freemind to do the mapping out and exporting. Here is a download of the actual Freemind map ......

We need to manage all of the Textures that will be used. Alot of the textures will be used more than once so it would be nice not having to waste the time to reload them all the time. Here's my first attempt at a very basic Texture Manager. Large Version Ok, basically this will just accept either a Texture and an ID (of which I think will be a string or a set of numbers) or it will take a String file path and an ID. It'll load the Texture and ID into a SingleTexture class and then store it into an ......

Mesh Loading. You can't have a game without it, or at least a decent looking one. Here is my initial thoughts for an idea of handling it. Large Version Now here are two classes that will be implemented into the Adean engine. A Mesh Loader class and a Mesh Holder class. First of all, there's a string saying where the mesh is located, that will be sent to the Loader method within the Mesh Loader. This will then go through the steps to take all of the Textures, Materials, and all of the Mesh data and ......

First thing to take a look at, considering it's a large portion of the game, is the menu system. Here is a quick idea of how the menu system will work itself out. Large Version Now what you're seeing here is the basic idea of the menu. The numbers 1 through 5 are individual menu items which make up the entire menu. Each of the Menu Items will contain actions that will be called upon by keypresses. As of now, I'm thinking just the actual keyboard numbers 1 through w/e number will be used for the keys, ......

Here are my first sketchings of ideas. (Yes my coding is better than my drawing capablities) Large Version Ok, what you see here is a bunch of muddled thoughts. Yep. In the very middle is the basic design of what the game will probably look like. Two people one at each end. At the bottom (The numbers 1 - 5) Shows the GUI menu that I'll be making for it. On the side are the elements of spells and their shapes and colors. Beneath the picture are some ideas for stats that can make the player kind of ......

So, I've decided to join in on the rat race of the GWB game programming contest. Now this oughta be fun ;) First of all, I'm Garrett Hoofman. I've been playing around with Managed DirectX off and on for the last year or so and I've been fiddling with alot of stuff dealing with C# for about 2 years. Right now, I attend Michigan Tech University and I'm involved in the Husky Game Development Enterprise that's offered there. I don't actually have a completed...anything lol. Hopefully that'll change with ......
