I am rather disappointed in Microsoft and INETA for under-representing the Southeast as much as they did. The closest place for people interested in the road show to go is Dallas/Houston, St Louis, or Boston. For me, the closest of the 3 is about 8 hrs. I don't think I can talk anyone into a 16-hour road trip.

It would've been nice if there were an event in Atlanta. This would've covered us. I just don't understand why such a good portion of the US is not covered. The only thing that makes sense would be that the events were based on other times/places that Scott Guthrie and Rob Howard will be at. I haven't seen anything to this effect. Who knows? Hopefully, we won't see such misrepresentation in the future.

Michael-
I could be wrong but my understanding is that they had time/budget for a certain number of stops. So they are probably trying to maximize their audience based on that. The closest one to us in 4 hours away in Boston. Microsoft's New England office has offered to set up a Live Meeting event here so that people in my user group and anyone else can attend virtually.

This is a first round of the ASP.NET Roadshow and if successful they will do another round and hit other cities. These cities were chosen as the goal was to get 300+ people for each city. The chosen cities were places that we felt pretty sure about getting that number.

Understandable, but I think that having one in Atlanta would be better than having two in Texas. Especially when Houston and Dallas are so close to each other. As long as there are more, I can't complain too much, but I still think that there is a significant number of people (more than the 300 minimum) that would be interested in an Atlanta event. Oh well. I'm looking into the suggestion by Julie. We'll see.
