Along with Visual Studio 2008 becoming available for download off of MSDN - there are a whole slew of new products (some free) that are now available with this new release. A release of VS2008 also means that the RTM (or final) release of the .NET Framework 3.5 is out and available for download. It is important to note that if you install VS2008, that it will install the .NET Framework 3.5 for you, so you won't have to make this additional install.

In addition to the .NET Framework 3.5 and VS2008, you will also find some great and free products out there that give you the ability to work with this new framework.

Visual Web Developer

Visual Basic

Visual C#

Visual C++

You can find these new products here. Have fun! 2008 will be a fun year of development.

UPDATE - These free IDE's now are in English and Japanese.

How 'bout them Express pages?

Black background, reflections and other shininess. Who says Microsoft doesn't get Web 2.0?
