MSN Maps and Directions

Some Finnish folks pointed this out to me and I thought it was rather funny. They entered in a request for the driving directions to get from Vaasa to Tampere (a rather short road trip in reality), but instead got these instructions from MSN:

I like the part where they instruct you to get on a ferry and head to Sweden, go down the coast of Sweden and then get on another ferry back to Finland. .... “I'm sorry I'm late boss, but MSN TOLD me I had to take the ferry to get here!“ ... The ferry rides are always fun (tax-free goods) and the Finns are always looking for a way to get on them. Nice!

Yahoo Maps once put me on a 42-minute drive over two bridges in order to go a few feet down the street. (It has since been fixed.)

For some reason MapQuest is determined to make me drive through the US when I plot a trip from Montreal (or even Ottawa) to Vancouver even though we've got this great highway 1 (that I can see from my window) that stretches across all of Canada.

I have to start the trip in Thunder Bay Ontario or else I'll need to bring my passport. Weird.

For two days I have been unable to get MSN Maps and Directions to work for me. None of the links work. I tried to notify them through feedback, but that did not work either. Do you think it is the website? I don't have this problem with other sites.

Try this one:

START = Hagesund, Norway
END = Trondheim, Norway

Then click Reverse directions for another laff.

I CAN NO LONGER PULL UP MAPS & DIRECTIONS - MSN MAPS & DIRECTIONS.
ONE DAY I COULD AND ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO OR SO I COULDN'T. HAS SOMETHING CHANGED THAT I'M NOT AWARE OF?

I get kicked off the computer whenever I use Mapquest or follow a link to a map. Is it because I'm on MSN? Is there a fix to this?

Every time I try to go to MSN Maps & Directions I end up at live maps. Not what I want. How can I access the old Maps & directions?
