NewsGator major upgrade issues
So I haven't been able to use NewsGator all day long. As soon as I found out that I could upgrade from 2.0 to 2.5, I started the upgrade. Well let me tell you what, that was a horrible idea. I couldn't upgrade because I was behind a proxy. If you want to upgrade, do not do it behind a proxy. For some reason it doesn't work. My guess is the code used to get feeds via a proxy is not the same code used in the upgrade wizard. As soon as I got home and tried to complete the upgrade it worked great. I ......

Congrats to Chris Pirillo!

Congrats to Chirs Pirillo! Chris seems to gone full text on his RSS feed. He has also made lots of changes to his blog. I approve of all of them. I wouldn't even mind it if he put ads at the bottom of the posts. Thanks Chris for making the blogosphere just a little easier and cooler for everyone.

CruiseControl.Net 0.9.2 will add support for SourceGear Vault

Thanks to Joel Ross I now know that CruiseControl.Net 0.9.2 will add support for SourceGear Vault. This makes me really excited. Now all I have to do is set it up while no one is paying attention and force a culture change.

I have purchased a Dell 1905FP monitor
I have purchased a Dell 1905FP monitor. My current monitor is on the fritz and it was time to get a replacement. The choice came down to the Dell 1905FP and the Viewsonic 191b. Both monitors apparently use the same panel. Viewsonic differs by using AMPLIFIED IMPULSE™ TECHNOLOGY, which is supposed to help with trailing and ghosting. Alas I could not justify spending around 80 dollars extra for this. I also received free shipping from Dell which was pretty nice ......

In need of a new monitor, any recommendations?

My monitor is on its last leg. It is probably one of the first LCD monitors on the face of the planet. It’s an old Mitsubishi. I am in need of a new monitor, any recommendations?

Sorry to all my readers

Sorry to all my readers that I did not post more from TechEd 2005. I had huge laptop problems even though I thought I fix them earlier in the week. I will try to summarize and collect my notes from TechEd and post them this week, but no promises as I will be trying to catch up at work.

BizTalk 2006 release date

I would like to clarify when BizTalk 2006 will be released. All over the web people have said that November 7th, 2005 will be the release date for BizTalk 2006 server. This is untrue. This date is when all the marketers will get into high gear and start pounding us all with BizTalk 2006 material. It is called BizTalk 2006 for a reason and we will not be able to get BizTalk 2006 till February, March, April timeframe.

RFID @ TechEd 2005 update
I posted Sunday about the RFID tags at TechEd. I still have no idea what or where they were planning on using them at. I will try to find out for those that are interested. UPDATE!!! - At the keynote this morning we found out what the RFID tags are for. Microsoft is using them to track where people are throughout the conference. They are 100% anonymous. Most people have either thrown them away, but at this mornings keynote they gave away 5 creative portal media players (if I am not mistaken). It ......

Steve Ballmer Keynote
This is my breakdown of the keynote. This is unedited and most likely filled with spelling and grammar errors. 8:52 - Finally sitting down. Received a free Windows Update Services (WUS) CD 8:55 - The half the large screens as have Windows Media Player on them with visualizations. On the other half the sponsors list keeps going by. Where is Dell as a sponsor?? Usually Dell is a huge sponsor. Dell also doesn't have booth. 8:59 - People still entering. Good music so far. 9:03 - Welcome everyone to TechEd. ......

Morning TechEd Day 1
I successfully made it to the conference center and had breakfast. Steve Ballmer will be talking at 9:00 AM (EST). Look here for a full report. I will either post throughout the keynote or post as soon as I can get an internet connection. The conference center is really busy but it has yet to get into full swing. Just finished getting my VPC setup for tonight's loadfest with the BizTalk team. Note to the breakfast cooks where is my eggs, bacon, and sausage ......

Made it to TechEd 2005!
I have officially made it to my second TechEd 2k5 edition. I have checked into the Wyndam Orlando but the room wasn't ready. I put my baggage in my co-workers room and we have headed to the conference center (this place is huge). Registration was a breeze and I have already received my t-shirt. New to TechEd is a standard issue RFID tag for which they will use in demonstrations. I am sitting in the internet lounge so if you want to find me your best bet is here. I also have the BlackBerry so you ......
