Crossfader initial impressions

I have popped over to http://www.crossfader.com

"Crossfader is an online community for the global electronic artist.  We are building this tool to help you connect with people who share your love for creation, great music, technology and modern culture."

I haven't really had time to get totally familiar with the product, but here is are my first impressions.

Pros: The site is very nice to look at. The layout is nice and easy to navigate. If you click on the 'Launch Windows Media Player' icon. The obvious happens, but the unexpected (and welcome) thing is it turn it into a radio station and just keeps playing music. I love that. You can also skip a track just like you would on a CD.

Cons: The knowledge section has only one thread. I know as time passes this will change but there should definitely be some content in the 'Getting Started'  section just to start out with. The other sections should fill themselves out once more people hit the site. The second thing is that if you click on the media widget and play a song the UI doesn't change, where is my visual affordance that I am playing a song or paused. The last is if you click anywhere else you stop having music and you have to restart it, I wish you it would be persistent throughout the pages so you don't have to have Windows Media on if you are on the site.

If you haven't checked out the website yet please do, it is awesome.

And thanks to Robert Scoble for writing a quick post to let us all know that crossfader  is here.
