Hello Eric
How is the group going? I am writing today to ask for your help in promoting the upcoming 2005 Heartland Developers Conference. I am the leader of the Omaha.NET UG in Omaha, NE as well as a Regional UG Liaison for INETA. In 2004, the UGs in my region started an annual conference aimed at brining big time conference training and development to the heartland at a price that everyone could afford.
Last year we had over 250 developers from the Midwest come to Des Moines, IA for the one day conference. It was a huge success and this year is twice as big. We will be having 2 days of content, 2 networking events, 12 speakers, and 16- 90 minutes sessions. We are targeting 500 developers this year and need all the UG help we can get. I have compiled a list of key talk points on the right of this newsletter and am following it up with a copy of our first "Keynote" newsletter that I am hoping you'll forward on to your members.
There are also several ways to help us on your website and personal blogs. We would appreciate a link back to the www.heartlanddc.com website. We also have some link back images similar to those seen for PDC and Tech-Ed located on the homepage of our website. Lastly, if you have events located on your site, we would appreciate an include link to our conference. Anything you can do would help greatly. This conference will not only be a win for the attendees, but a huge win for our UGs. Microsoft is watching the conference to gauge the viability of future events for the region so we want to show them that we have a huge need and that we show up.
Lastly, I hope you will join us at the conference this year as we have a special dinner planned on Thursday night before the party for all UG leaders.
Thanks and let me know if there is anything I can help with as far as the conference or UG related stuff.
