BizTalk Error: Message Engine Permissions

Action that causes Error: When invoking an Orchestration published by the WebServices Publishing Wizard
Error Message: Warning and Error Message in Event Log every minute. Looks like that:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: BizTalk Server 2004
Event Category: BizTalk Server 2004
Event ID: 5641
Date:
Time:
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
The Messaging Engine failed to retrieve the configuration from the
database.

When invoking the orchestration, the following error occurs:

The Messaging Engine failed to register the adapter for "SOAP" for the receive location "/ITDeviceLab_Proxy/NS_ITDevice_ITDevice_prtITDeviceRequest.asmx". Please verify that the receive location is valid, and that the isolated adapter runs under an account that has access to the BizTalk databases.

Solution: The problem with my configuration was that the Orchestration was published under the IIS AppPool for SharePointServices per default. It would be possible to simply change the UserIdentity of this AppPool but I would recommend creating a new AppPool running under a User that has sufficient permissions.

Note: The solutions in my posts may be the reason for specific errors but there is no guarantee because there are a lot of different system configurations and therefore many reasons for errors exist. But maybe they are useful hints.

Hi Benit,

This happens if the receive MSMQ queue is created after creating the receive location.
Try with disabling and enabling the receive port and then restart the BizTalk host in the BizTalk Admin Console.

This should work

I too am getting the ENT SSO error with all the above errors like
The Messaging Engine failed to retrieve the configuration from the database.
and

The Messaging Engine failed to register the adapter for "SOAP" for the receive location "/GPSA_INTEGRATION_WEBSERVICES_ROUTER_PROXY/hp_integration_psg_gpsa_WebInterface_Web_Receive_Port.asmx". Please verify that the receive location is valid, and that the isolated adapter runs under an account that has access to the BizTalk databases.

Any soln for this?

I have Biztalk 2004 on Windows XP.

I'm currently using Windows 2003 Server and I published my orchestration into a web service and when my application calls that web service, it gives the same error. I tried the suggested solution but it didn't work, what should i do?

Answer: Create a new IIS Application pool, with Administrator previledges. Run the Virtual Directory which hosts the Web Service in the application pool created above.
Restart IIS services.

This will solve the problem.

“The Messaging Engine failed to register the adapter for SOAP”
This is the most common error what people got when they published there orchestration and try to invoke that web service.
Solution:
1. make sure that you BizTalk receive location on BizTalk publishing wizard.
2. If you create receive location on your source Application then you have to change Orchestration Receive port to newly created SOAP receive port.

If still your problem not solve then send me email on thawait.himanshu@gmail.com I will give you my sample BizTalk Application.
