Another KB from Citrix CTX112824

Summary

This document outlines several issues and any known workaround that users of Microsoft Windows Vista must be aware of in conjunction with the following Citrix products:

Citrix Streaming Client 1.0

Citrix is committed to ensuring compatibility with the latest Microsoft products.

Citrix will supply best effort support for Windows Vista in versions of the Streaming Client currently in mainstream maintenance as follows:

Citrix will offer workarounds for issues reported for the Streaming Client in conjunction with Windows Vista.

• For issues where practical workarounds are not available, Citrix will make a best effort to supply hotfixes to address those issues.

Full support for Windows Vista is planned to be provided in a maintenance release scheduled for mid-2007.

This document will be updated as new information becomes available.

Issues

Streaming Client 1.0

• Streamed applications cannot be launched through Desktop or Start Menu shortcuts. This is due to Program Neighborhood Agent not being able to handle the .pnagent file extension from the 10.0 client.

• Based on the first issue, FTA does not work on Vista for both ICA and Streaming applications.

• The CDF driver does not load on Vista 64-bit for the Streaming Client.

• Application Compatibility support is very limited on Vista for this initial release. Office 2003 and Office 2007 suites have been tested, but other applications have not been tested at this time.

Workaround

When using Vista, launch streamed applications directly from the Program Neighborhood Agent.

More Information

There are other minor issues that will be addressed by the maintenance release scheduled for mid-2007.
