Again it's been way too long since I've posted. So a quick update: I started my new job at Microsoft on July 27th and I've been traveling ever since. I was very fortunate to be able to attend the World Wide Partner Conference in Minneapolis and MGB in Atlanta (As well as MS101 in between). I have now officially relocated to Redmond Washington... and my household goods have finally arrived (it only took the movers 4 1/2 weeks), although everything is still in boxes. So, what am I doing at Microsoft? ......
Ok, so my new years revolution went out the window... but on a brighter note I've been applying for full-time positions over the last few months. Last Friday I interviewed for a Connections Presenter position with Microsoft in Las Colinas, TX.
The interviews went well, two days of travelling and five interviews in total, then a presentation, made for a very long trip. Today it was all proved worth it... I found out that I got the job!
I know most of you have probably heard of, and even read, Crossing the Chasm by Geoffrey A. Moore, but if by some chance you haven't... You Must! This is by far the best book I have read in quite some time. For those like myself (Computer Science/Business Student), or for that matter anyone with an interest in entering the marketing or program/product management areas of the industry, this book does something that none of the classes offered (at least at UVic), can come close to accomplishing.
