March 2007 Entries

Well I've already written 2 posts about this keynote for my team blogs (data and ADO.NET), so I don't want to write too much... but there are some great screencasts to check out...

During his presentation Britt talked a lot about Conceptual Data Programming and where Microsoft plans to focus on for future innovation in the Data Access space. He also gave a sneak peak at two tools that hadn't previously been seen... the much anticipated EDM Designer and the XSD Designer (you can expect to see more on these sometime after the upcoming Orcas release).

I've seen a good number of questions from people about the LINQ to Entities Samples in the Orcas March CTP and why they just don't seem to work...

Check out Erick Thompson's post for the 4 easy steps to get the samples back up and running.

A few months ago, Channel 9 began a new show, WM_IN, that focuses on talking with successful women who work at microsoft. There have been a number of really interesting interviews since the show has begun. I've always found it very interesting to find out how other women got into Computer Science (I guess that what happens when there are so few of you). On tuesday, a new episode was released featuring two of my Data Programmability colleagues, Kati Iceva and Sarah Parra, who are both developers on the ADO.NET. Check out their interview here to find out more about their successes with the ADO.NET team!
