Welcome…to the real world.

The problem with promoting your product as being so much better and safer than somebody else’s is that there are those that will take those claims as a challenge. Stealing market share away from Microsoft is a double-edged sword. It not only puts you into the spotlight in the minds of consumers but also in the minds of the people that want to hack something.
I think that the Firefox folks are going to soon learn that the reason they appeared to be more secure was due to the simple fact that nobody was actually trying to hack them. Now that they are boasting more than 25 million downloads, they are a more attractive target. Who better to try and compromise than 25 million people that think they are safe?
And what’s this crap about not issuing patches? You don’t need no stinking patches? I have to upgrade in order to get the fix?!? Isn’t that the kind of crap that these guys are always bashing Microsoft about? What if I don’t want to upgrade? Maybe your upgrade comes with even more bugs than this one.
Oh man, I’ve been waiting for this day.
