Community, Community, Community!
Life has been pretty nuts getting started as a Developer Evangelist at Microsoft. Since my wife and daughter are in Japan for two months, I've been doing a lot of travel around the Great Lakes District (Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky) to meet with user groups and community leaders. Extend the Distributed System Designers with the SDM SDK
The Distributed System Designers in Visual Studio 2005 can be extended with your own models using the System Definition Model (SDM) SDK. There is a new section in the VS 2005 developer center dedicated to the SDM SDK. That's pretty cool.

Video Conversations with MSN Messenger 7.0
My wife and daughter are in Japan for 2 months and I'm alone back here in the US. They go to Japan once a year, so this isn't the first time. To keep in touch, we've used the Webcam feature of MSN Messenger. Released just in time for this trip, was MSN Messenger 7.0. The video conversation feature rocks in 7.0.
