I've tried to install the new, updated help file for BizTalk 2004. Unfortunately I get an error message, "Please insert the disk:" and have either 'OK' or 'Cancel'. OK just re-prompts me, and Cancel rolls back the install. I tried extracting and running the MSP file on its own, and it looks like it's trying to copy a new BTSNTSvc.exe and failing, which seems a little strange... (The service was stopped anyway, so it shouldn't have caused too much of a problem) Anybody have any ideas how to fix this?...
Just a quickie that might save you a lot of pain if you are working with schemas and files in UTF8, or that started in UTF8 but you've subsequently changed to unicode... If you are getting lots of complaints about the encoding changing when you check in, or finding your files suddenly having Foo at the end of each line, make sure Sourcesafe has your files checked in as Binary rather than Text files. Have you been struggling to send email from BizTalk 2004? Have you ever seen the message: The adapter failed on an attempt to transmit a message going to send port with the address "mailto:xxx". Details: "Finding document specification by name failed. Verify that the schema is deployed properly." If so, you probably haven't configured your SMTP send adapter. See Steps 7-9 on this MSDN page on how to do this. Personally I'd have picked that error message to say "Your SMTP adapter is not configured"...
