Do you ever feel like there's just too much stuff to learn and not enough time in the day to learn it? I mean seriously...I've got the following things on my plate at the moment:
VB.NET 2008 (as in exploring the new language features more in depth)
MVC
More AJAX Stuff
LINQ (to Objects, to SQL)
Entity Framework
WCF
WPF
Biz Talk
Mobile Development using Mobile 6 and VS.NET 2008
NHibernate
Subversion and Git
Castle Windsor
[Edit]
NDepend
NUnit
[/Edit]
...
A co-worker made an interesting comment today that I think rings true: When do we get to stop learning *new* things and just get good with what we've got?
I think that what will emerge from this continual outpouring of products and offerings is the emergence of the "Evangelist" as a forefront role within communities and companies. To expect that all employees will be able to grasp all of these is unreasonable...but having one person who's sole purpose is to evaluate, educate, and facilitate adoption will become even more of a requirement.
Sigh...I think I'll need a new bookshelf shortly...already running out of room as it is...
