Twin Cities Code Camp - New Topic

Tuesday, October 16, 2007 2:15 AM

I'm going to be speaking at the Twin Cities Code Camp in just under two weeks, and am totally pumped about heading back to Minneapolis.

My original topic was going to be Pimp your UI with AJAX, but I realized after seeing the schedule that Robert Boedigheimer is going to be doing an AJAX presentation right before me. So instead of rehashing I decided to change my topic up a bit to still cover UI design/implementation, but from a different slant:

ASP.NET - Planning for the Presentation

“[Javascript/Client Side Code] must be viewed as being a separate application that interacts with your application as it runs on the server.” – Rocky Lhotka, Expert C# 2005 Business Objects

The presentation layer of web applications has evolved into a complex tier that can be sometimes overlooked and underestimated. In this session we’ll discuss best practices for implementing rich client interfaces, de-mystify what ‘AJAX’ really is, and explore the process of architecting a Presentation layer.

The speaker list for the event looks great, and the topics are all very interesting. If you can make it out, its definately a worthwhile event to hit.

If I have time to dive into it enough to give a solid enough presentation on it, then yeah: I'd like to include the new MVC Framework.

Pimp up your UI? It's not all about Ajax. Rather than architecting a Presentation layer, use the best that's out there and watch the jaws drop. Ext JS is as pimped up as it gets. www.extjs.com Yes it does do Ajax and much more. 10/16/2007 2:41 PM | Michael
