I posted back on May 9th about an issue I was having with renewing an expired domain through RegisterFly. It's now been about a week and a half...and its STILL not renewed. I'm now told there's a "technical issue" that's preventing renewals to go through. A technical issue? And one that takes more than a few weeks to fix?!
I've sent another support ticket asking for when the system will be ready to accept new renewals. I tried doing a transfer through Go Daddy, but apparantly expired domains need to be renewed with the prior registrar (I was hoping that GoDaddy could just renew it, but I guess it doesn't work that way). Also, there's a 60 day hold where the domain can't be transferred. That's total BS...you get a situation like this where a registrar is basically holding a domain hostage.
Lesson learned: make SURE that whoever you register with is credible and reliable, and don't assume that the cheapest deal is the best deal.
