I love AutoHotkey (AHK). Ever since I discovered it a little over a year ago I am constantly surprised and pleased with what I am able to accomplish with it.  And there in lied my problem.  Out of the box, AHK allows you to trigger your own scripts using hotkeys.  My problem was that I had so many of these little (and some large) scripts to do so many things, that i quickly ran out of hotkeys to use that wouldn’t interfere with other application’s shortcut keys (Visual Studio anyone); also even if I had more hotkeys available, trying to remember which ones did what was a nightmare. To remedy this, I created AHK Command Picker.

AHK Command Picker is really just a little UI that allows you to quickly run your scripts; so instead of using a hotkey, you just…

This is a good development for shortcut keys. Programming really makes a lot of difference as the days goes by.

Great post Daniel Schroeder ! We certainly a checklist that should be ticked off each time we push a blog post out.

We’ve recently started making more of an effort with our blogging and content, but we did have a really bad habit of hitting ‘publish’ and sharing on social media and then leaving it.

I never realised there was so many things you could do to help promote your posts! So thank you! http://indiavisitonline.in/package/cochin-kullu-manali-honeymoon

Really, I have a couple of hotkeys and using the notepad is difficult to remember all. And I wonder if there is a way to see that in a more orderly way,

I can never remember which hotkeys are assigned to which scripts. Whether I wrote them or downloaded them from the Autohotkey forum.

Some of the easiest keys to reach on the keyboard are also the least frequently used. Make these keys do something useful! For example, if you rarely use the right ALT key, make it perform the action you do most often:

RAlt::
MsgBox You pressed the right ALT key.
return

Select | Download

You can even do the above without losing Right-ALT's native function by assigning Right-ALT to be a "prefix" for at least one other hotkey. In the below example, Right-ALT has become a prefix, which automatically allows it to modify all other keys as it normally would. But if you press and release Right-Alt without having used it to modify another key, its hotkey action (above) will take effect immediately:

RAlt & j::AltTab
