David Redding Blog? What blog? Theres no blog to see here. Please move along

Ever had the hankerin' for a good ol' game of cards with some buddies?  Did you ever go over to a friends house, only to play a game that stabs you in the back Munchcard3I don't know how many times? I did, and man was it a blast.  I've never heard of the card game "Munchkins" before last night.  802-6pack

So I show up at my buddy Jeff's house, where I immediately nose dived into the various munchies he had laying out (How could I resist, it was Venison sausage!!).  Once I could pull my face out of the snack bowel, Jeff hands me a Woodchuck Draft Cider (Another new experience, this shit is AWSOME!)  and we sit down to go over the rules.  Fairly straight forward, do what the cards say and try to be the first one to level 10.  Well, when your cards are typically like the one on the left, you know the game is going to be a little nuts.  The whole goal of the game is to screw your buddies over in the process of trying to win. The funniest things would be.... "Here, bend over and take it like a man" and then right as that same guy was about to loose, the guy who screwed him would say "Well, do you want some help? I'll do it for all the treasure from defeating the monster.  Absolute Hilarity.  I suggest everyone give it a try over some good woodchuck Draft cider.

Hey Dave,

You should really try the cider from tap! It is just that much better for sure!

See you in a few weeks. Oh by the way, you have 1.5-2 full hours to fill up with your XNA tutorial(s)

I personally would like to see a brief intro and getting setup and running with XNA - what is required and bumps in the process. As most folks can figure this out themselves, but 10-15 minutes on it probalby wouldn't hurt. Perhaps 5-10 minutes and what XNA is all about, where you can go with it for your business, if anywhere. Then the rest on getting into the nuts and bolts of making things work.

Then perhaps end it with 10-15 minutes on distributing your work and what happens next.

Perhaps early next year we can have the chapter do a XNA testout day where everyone participates and creates something, perhaps even in small teams with a short competitioon type deal.

I'm looking forward to it. With 2 hours, i'm sure we can hammer out a lot of those in depth questions.

I'll have to post about my talk. Were still on for the 28th right?

You should turn Munchkin into an XNA game.
