Macs being targeted by virus's ... no way

This might come off a little mean but....

HA HA! All you pretentious mac Zealots out there!

This is aimed at all those people who said "Go to apples home page and type 'Windows' in the search bar! Haha, so true so true, Mac's don't get viruses because [Insert why mac pcs are better than windows based pc's]"

This means one thing: Apple's day has finally come and Apple users are
going to get hit hard. All those unpatched vulnerabilities from years past
are going to bite them in the behind.

I can sum it up in one sentence: OS X is the new Windows 98. Investing in
security ONLY as a last resort losses money, but everyone has to learn it
for themselves.

Now as one buddy pointed out,
"I don't see how you get from trojan-horse-media-codec to "OS X is the new Windows 98"

I think the answer to that is, much in the same way of Windows 98, it's a new OS, that a lot of people have taken in and enjoyed, but it's also new , and fairly pervasive.  Which means, of course, it's going to be a target for a lot of nasty maliciousness

Ok...so I'm sure I'm going to get lambasted for this post ... but it was worth it.  Fire away

umm... NO!

The huge problem with windows 98, and even XP was that the end user was admin by default.

Windows ADMIN by default => BAD

OSX NOT ADMIN BY DEFAUTL - EVER!! => GOOD

You and Keith apple haters are hilarious - I laugh at your hate and ignorance.

I am quite disappointed. For one, you failed to even link to the article properly in your post and two, you didn't bother to really check out any of the information. You just took the one guys word for it.

Now I do not own any Macs, but I have used them, and find no fault with them. I also find no fault with Linux and have several linux boxes running at home to test a variety of network simulations. It is hard to take anyone seriously when they hold a grudge on competitors and start to make ridiculous claims.

As a person who attended Day of .NET in Ann Arbor and caught your session, I am now only forced to realize the very lack of maturity you truly have. Childish antics won't convince or resolve any of the leading issues in today's technology, let alone, the future of technology.

Next time read the articles that the links go to, and any feedback acknowledged by other users. Until you try to grasp the whole picture, your findings will lack the basics required for any informal and meaningful value.

This is just one more blog I am going to quit reading for stupid post that lacked any brain activity. Quite disappointing indeed.

Maybe I should elaborate on my position concerning macs. For one I think osx is a descent os. My issue is with the zealots out there that have been walking around like their shit doesn't stink. The point in the article is that the mac is now a legit target for virusis. So,the next time I go to the apple website and see a "windows bad full of viruses" ad I can keep this instacne in mind. And hey, feel free to your opinion man, maybe at the next DoDn we can have an intelligent discussion over a few brews.

SHEESH, Dave. Maybe you will learn your lesson next when you talk about the cult... I mean APPLE. Its a shame you can't have any fun with the mac kids out there. Specially when they hold nothing while taking shots at our technology. I guess thats what makes them the cool kids.

Whats even worse is how you are no longer entitled to a point of view, and is automatically dismissed as "Childish antics"

Keep up the blogging Dave!
