The next few months are going to be pretty insane for me... here's why:
This weekend (October 27th) at the Twin Cities Code Camp I'm doing two sessions on Game Development. One on "XNA for teh total Newb" and the other on "Build a Game in an Hour with XNA and TorqueX." Jason has been ripping on me to go minimalist on the Powerpoints, so for my TorqueX talk, I won't be using one at all. That's pretty minimalist, yeah? (All code will be posted and made available of course.) My buddies Lou Vega, D'Arcy Lussier and Bill Ryan are all flying up tomorrow and crashing at my house. Should be fun! Lou should be getting the award for farthest attendee, since he's actually coming up without a speaker slot (although he's ready just in case.)
On November 15th, The ZMan will be making a special appearance at the Twin Cities XNA User Group (hosted by Magenic.) Registration is open now, just click the link on the site. (Bottom Left Corner)
We've got some great stuff planned for this meeting and future ones as well. If you're in the area, definitely come by.
This December 4th - 6th, I'll be at St. Mary's College of Maryland with the ZMan.
My buddy Alan (who seriously needs to update his blog) is a professor at SMCM and he has invited us to come speak to his Senior level topics course (experimental course) that deals with Game Design and Development.
We'll be talking to his students about XNA and helping to evaluate their final projects, most of which have been developed using XNA over the last semester.
This January 4th-7th, I'll be in Seattle for my birthday for Butt-Numbing Code-a-thon II with Jason O, George C & you guessed it, ZMan. Andy might not be with us the whole time, cuz he's all busy and stuff, but I imagine there's a pint or three with his name on it. Maybe we can even talk Trisha into hanging at Gameworks for a bit.
This coming February (Date TBD) I'm hosting a Sharepoint Code Camp at Magenic. No ZMan for this one, but my homies Bill Ryan, Mark Harris, Frank Shink and a whole host of other brilliant folks will be there. We're still working out the details, and whether it's one day or two, but I do know one thing... it's gonna be awesome.
