Scott Kuhl poses an interesting question here and it makes me wonder, does the US consider the moon to be a U.S. territory? Never really thought about it...

Regardless of how enforceable such a claim would be, would we make an issue of it? Considering we purchased a large chunk of the real estate in this country with beads and tobacco (among other things), how far-fetched is it to think we might assert ownership, based on the age old finders-keepers rule?
