Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.
I've been out of the office all week teaching a Microsoft Course in order to meet the requirements of my MCT program.

This is the first teaching gig I've managed to score since moving to South Carolina, and I'm at PST in North Charleston. I have to say, it feels good to be back in the classroom. It may sound cheesy, but I really do enjoy helping people learn, and when I'm in a small class (5 people) like this one I feel like I have more of an opportunity to connect with everyone. Also, this class is a lot more hands-on for the students than a code camp or User Group session. Naturally, talking to 5 people for 40 hours is quite a bit different than talking to 40 people for 1-2 hours (like in a typical code camp or user group setting). For one thing, I'm drinking a lot more water... and my feet are killin me! ;)

I'd also like to mention that if you're looking for training in the Charleston area, I highly recommend PST. They have excellent facilities, and can also handle proctored testing. The staff and owner are all top notch and very professional. I hope to teach more classes there in the future, especially if we can work out some evening curriculum. They also do onsite training if that suits your needs.

Starting next week, I'll be teaching some Continuing Education courses a couple nights a week at the local high school. Pretty basic material, like "How to use PowerPoint", "How to sell stuff on Ebay", "Introduction to HTML" etc... Posted on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 3:36 PM General Interest | Back to top
