Gamefest 2006
Knowing that we poor geeks without laptops, pdas, cell phones or other internet browsing gadgets would wither and die if we didn't have the opportunity to read all the latest posts from GeeksWithBlogs during GameFest, Microsoft was very considerate and provided some internet stations to preserve our mental well-being and hook us back up to the system. Yep, that's my first bit of non-swag Gamefest news I want to share. I know it's not very technical, but she was the closest thing I met to a celebrity there so that elevated the coolness of it. Just who exactly is E.Gauger you ask? And I ask you, you mean you don't read Kotaku yet consider yourself a geek? Shame on you. But, just so you don't get embarrassed next time this comes up, seriously check out Kotaku, it's this geeky gaming news website which does all the work for me by collecting all gaming ......
Yep. I sure did. I also find it funny that's been the number on question that I've been asked since I got back. No one seems to want to hear about any of the cool technologies I saw, the interesting people I met or the diseases I picked up at the Gamefest orgy. No one. So, since swag is the number one topic of interest, it is swag you shall hear about. For me, my number one piece of swag comes in the form of trash. I however, will be hanging on to this piece of trash for life. My conference badge ......
Well, I'm back from Microsoft Gamefest and WOW! I'm still trying to digest all of the events and information that happened there. I have a LOT of typing to do over the next couple of weeks. I have a TON of information for work and even more information for the game development hobbyists. From my own standpoint, the conference could be summed up a little like this: Microsoft: You big game development companies suck. Everyone: *gasp*Microsoft: You guys don't take risks anymore, you don't innovate and ......
