As I continue to prepare for my
Portland Code Camp presentation, I thought it might be a good idea to ask those who have gone before for some nuggets of wisdom. What advice could they give a new Code Camp presenter to help him get through this first presentation?
One man, rose to this occasion and provide me with the perfect bit of advice. With these words in my heart, I know I'll be OK. Ever one to share when I gain some valuable piece of knowledge, I now give these words to you. May they grace your spirit with their calming wisdom, as they did mine.
In the words of my wise friend
Chris, what advice can you give to a new Code Camp presenter?
Just remember the four H's: humility, humor, honesty and Ho's.
1. Stay humble...don't be a big head jackass.
2. Try to make it moderately funny, but not too much (see #1)
3. When shit doesn't work, be honest about it, and make use of #2
4. When it all goes to hell, distract them with the Ho's while you make your exit.
So with those words, I once again focus on going over my content and continuing to prepare. My only remaining question is, does anyone know where I can get some Ho's real quick?
Feel free to leave any other tips you guys might have. I know I could use the help :)
