Microsoft is ramping up to launch the contest to end all contests in the next week. The Dream/Build/Play contest has the potential to change a hobbyist developer's life forever. While the contest PALES in comparison to the fine game development contests run by Geeks with Blogs (when are we starting the next one Jeff and John?), it's sure to make you dream big as you imagine a game that you wrote being picked up officially on XBox Live Arcade.
I'm officially throwing my hat in the ring on this one. My chances are winning are about the same as me winning the lottery. But I knew a friend, who had a friend, who had an uncle who had a dog who's previous owner's sister had an ex-boyfriend who was arrested by a cop who was served coffee by this waitress that won $10 in the lottery once, so why not me?
The XNA Team blog has a little information about the contest, but the official site will finally be launched sometime in the next week. Hopefully that will give me enough time to prototype the game I've been designing to see if my idea is actually any fun to play or just looks fun on paper...
On a side note, there should be some more artwork going up on xna3way sometime this weekend. Jason, Chris and I are still plugging away on the game and hopefully we will have something done before the MVP summit...keep your fingers crossed! AND, I'm hoping to kick off a new series of tutorials on XNADevelopment this weekend as well. I've got some projects ready, they just need to have tutorials written and posted to the site. Anyone got some extra time they're not using that I can have?
