My Game is officially submitted.

Tonight was slightly stressful. I always get stressed on release days (or nights, whatever). It just seems that no matter how small the release, things always pop up. Well, even with the small things that kept appearing, I still got it submitted and I'm glad. I'm tired.

For those of you anxious to take a peak at it before Jeff makes it available. You can grab the project source here or you can just grab the game here (I think it will work, I know the source code will, just not sure about my standalone exe, especially after the way tonight went).

So there it is. No more chances to make changes. Just sitting and waiting. I'll try and work up the energy to do a project wrap-up post tomorrow. Good luck to the rest of the contestants in wrapping up the projects and getting them submitted. We made it, give yourselves a round of applause because you deserve it.

[Edit: If you do download the game or source code, leave a comment please. I'd appreciate any positive or negative feedback you might have! Thanks.]

Lol, yeah I knew. Just didn't want to spend my Friday night coding like a mad man to meet the deadline.

Feedback:

All in all, very cool. Great job. :)

-> The executable ran fine.
-> In the Pacman and Snake games, movement seemed jumpy and sudden, but otherwise worked just fine.
-> Tetris was HARD! :(
-> In the Gauntlet game, the controls were extremely non-responsive and I couldn't seem to attack when the action heated up.
-> Good storyline sequences. I had a few chuckles. ;)
-> LOTS of sourcecode. My native C# eyes burn when I try to read it, hehe. ;)

Negative points aside, I had fun playing it. Definitely a great piece of work considering our short timeline.

..Now I need to get back to finishing mine!

Took another look over the source.. ;)

The "LOTS of sourcecode" part was intended as a compliment, albeit vague. Your code was very well organized (compared to mine, at least, hehe!), and even though I'm not fluent in VB.NET I was able to read it and get the general gist of what was going on. Your project/solution management is very nice, as well. I never thought of including images/data inside the solution manager like that, to save on directory woes. :P

But <b>DARNIT</b>! You need to start writing comments, my friend. :)

Comments on blogs? or Comments in the source code?

ohh...do you mean those XML comments? yeah, I'm a VB guy...I'm just not sure that I like them yet, they're new for me.

Nevermind. For some reason VB.NET 2005 wasn't doing syntax highlighting on your comments in your source, so I thought you had none, because they were blending in so well. :P

Very nice game. Just curious if you are regulating the game speed... it runs VERY FAST on my computer (only a 2GHz Pentium M), to the point that the road race level becomes pretty impossible after gate 50 or so...

Or is it supposed to be this hard? :)
