Geeks With Blogs
Chaz Blogs It's all about the eXperience!

Okay so we've had an onslaught of new things hit in the Microsoft stack lately.  I am curious how many folks are using WCF, WPF, WF (workflow), Silverlight, LINQ, etc.  And for what types of problems you are trying to solve.

It would also be nice to know if you are using the P&P Guidance Packages and Ent Libs.  Oh and which Visual Studio version are you mainly working with these days?

If you are not using this stuff yet why?  Did you pitch it to your boss and they said no for some reason?  Did they get it or not?

I consider this a reverse blog.  It is probably better suited for a discussion board than a blog, but so be it.  Talk back to me.  I want to know which foundations are being embraced and which are being rejected.

Thanks for the feedback!!!!!

I had a brief affair with Silverlight, but the first version, so mostly just playing with XAML and the Jscript Silverligh object on the client side. The reason for chossing this was an alternative to the "clunky" Adobe Flash. However, I am now considering going back to Flash, as no one would download Silverlight, they dont know what it is.
I haven't used the latest version of Silverlight (i am mainly a C# dev, so would feel much more at home), but I also havent used the latest action script dev env from Adobe.
I expect i when i finish this site it will support both flash and sl..

We are using WCF and WPF both in our SOA based SaaS application. We are also going to use WF with WCF in our application, most R&D work has finished. After working with WCF, I am in love with it. We are not planning to user SilverLight. Thank You

We are building a multi-channel marketing product called 'Adora' using Silverlight and WCF. We are also planning to develop a workflow module in the near future and might use WF for that. Our first release is scheduled for July 2009.
