Props To HP Part II

Just to finish up on my props to HP Part I, I got my 2 GB (2 x 1024) RAM from Crucial.Com.  The whole experience end-to-end  from Crucial was great (even with a little hick-up).  Crucial was outstanding and provided free over-night shipping.  The hick-up was a delay on the over-night service from UPS.  No big deal, the airplane was delayed somewhere along the route and it came a day later than expected.  But it wasn't a big deal, because I knew the status the whole way via excellent tracking from Crucial and UPS.  This hick-up in my mind does not diminish the Crucial.Com experience at all.  From the tool that scanned my system via the Crucial web site to identify just what memory would work to the tracking process was beyond my expectations.  Every company should aspire to provide such a great online shopping experience.

So to the main point of my post.  HP and my zt3010us again proved to be great.  When I received the 2 memory modules, I went to the HP site where I was instructed on how to locate the RAM location on the bottom of my laptop and how to replace the memory.  To my surprise there was only one available slot for memory.  Based on everything I read I knew there should be two slots available.  Long story short, a quick on-line chat with HP pointed me in the right direction.  The second slot was under the keyboard.  Although daunting at first, removing the keyboard, and swapping the memory modules took a total elapsed time of just under 5 minutes.  I am running at 2 GB of RAM and happy as can be.

Maybe it's the holidays, but hats off to HP (again) and now Crucial.Com!
