Back Home Again

…Ok, not really.  I’ve been home most of the last couple months, but I haven’t been blogging.   I’m going to try to start catching up with some thoughts in the next few weeks.  One thing I noticed right away is that this weekend marks the 25th anniversary of the IBM PC.  So, happy birthday PC.  Thanks for 25 years of h***.  ;-)

Seriously, all of our lives have been impacted by this, whether you’re a PC user or not.  25 years ago when I was playing with my TRS-80 and learning how to program in BASIC, only geeks and enthusiasts had computers.  Now, they’re ubiquitous.  Chances are that you carry something much more powerful than that orginal PC on your belt or in a pocket and you use it to take pictures and make phone calls and maybe a thousand other things.  You may have something more powerful in your car telling you when to turn left and right.  And chances are you are reading this right now on something that owes much of its heritage to that 25 year old PC.

What did Bob Hope use to say?  Oh yeah…”thanks for the memories”.
