I typically run across a lot of articles hyping the art of blogging and all the good it does for businesses and people.  You’ve likely heard/read all of them too.  That’s why it was so interesting for me to read this article that claims businesses don’t care about blogging.

So, now I’m interested in seeing what anyone who happens across my blog thinks about this article.  In fairness, it does make some good points.  Not, imo, the points it is really attempting to make however.  Read the article and you’ll probably draw your own conclusions about what I mean.  However, it seems to me that what is really coming through in the article is that businesses need to be educated on blogs.  Starting with what they are.  Some indications from this article clearly show that blogs are not understood well by the author and if his points are correct, then, business doesn’t yet understand what they are either.  He actually claims they’re a reincarnation of bulletin boards from the ‘80’s.  Well, I suppose you could look at them that way if you discounted many factors.  As a marketing professional myself, I love the viral aspect of blogs for building audiences and generating emotions around products, technologies, and even my own philosophies.  That wasn’t possible, or at least wasn’t happening, with bulletin boards.

I could go on, but I’d like to learn what all of you think about this, since most of you have been blogging a lot longer than I have.
