As a newbie in the blog world (about 3 weeks now), I’m extremely impressed by the community attitude and support of the blog community. As an active user group leader and INETA leader, I’ve seen what good community can do. However, my understanding has jumped a few levels after reading a recent blog post from Heather Hamilton of Microsoft about good resume writing.
No, please don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love where I’m working and who I’m working with and have no intention of making any changes, but after reading her post, I knew she was definitely somebody who knew more than anyone I’ve ever met about resume writing. I sent her a copy of mine and she was extremely kind to take time out of her busy day to look it over and offer feedback. Now, if she gets barraged by people seeking her for help – I’m sure she’ll change her tune, but I just wanted to voice how impressed I am that she would do that. I don’t know her and more importantly she doesn’t know me.
I love the community I’ve seen through blogging in such a short time and I look forward to learning and exploring more as things go on.
