VSTSBeta2 VPC Expired today

In case you didn't know...the VSTSBeta2 VPC that Microsoft distributed via MSDN and DVD (I got mine at the Columbus .NET User Group) expired today.  That's only because the version of Windows 2003 was an Evaluation edition.  Now, if you have a valid license, here are the steps to getting it working again...NOTE: This requires going through the MS Activation Process unless you have a VLK.

  1. disconnect host from any network that would reset the clock
  2. Set computer date to prior to 10/17/2005
  3. Log in to VPC with Darren's Credentials (Pass@word1)
  4. Set VPC CD settings to use CD rom or ISO for Windows Server 2003 Enterprise
  5. Start Windows Server 2003 Setup (i386\winnt32.exe)
  6. For Installation Type choose the Upgrade (recommended) option
  7. Agree to the License Agreement
  8. Enter your MSDN/VLK or standard license key
  9. Once the Upgrade completes, the VPC will reboot.
  10. Follow the Activation process
  11. You may need to reinstall the VPC Additions

That should be it--at least that's what worked for me.
