Buyer Beware with Blue Hippo computers
Just heard on the news about this online computer company called Blue Hippo that is scamming companies out of getting the computer that they ordered. The attraction to their site is that they will do business with anyone with poor credit. The consumer starts making monthly payments and wait and wait until delivery of the PC which never comes. The company has received several complaints from the Better Business Bureau as well as different states that are suing them for deceptive marketing. Sad that ......

Oh NO... Another 4 months of TV spots for a digital converter box

I just found out that the Senate on Monday voted unanimously to postpone the upcoming transition from analog to digital television broadcasting by four months to June 12.

These TV spots are as bad as watching commercials for candidates.

Come June 12th, I bet another delay takes place. Need to found that mute button!

Where have the years gone by?
Would you believe the Mac from Apple is 25 years old? It's hard to believe the years went by that fast. Back in 1983, I left my job as Director of Educational Programs for a trade association to sell Apple computers in a large chain of computer stores. The Macintosh wasn't around at that time and I sold the Apple IIe pc. In fact, I was the #1 salesman at the AppleFest show that was held in Boston that year. Many of us started in the computer business working on these pc's. Programming them was even ......

Who's next after Circuit City?
Yesterday at lunch, I had a chance to stop by the local Circuit City store. It was interesting to note that many buyers left the store without purchasing anything even with their bankruptcy announcement. After walking the aisles, I soon realized that the 20% off retail sale that was going on was not enough for purchasers to buy in this economy. I liked Circuit City and purchased my plasma TV and a laptop there. I didn't go there for the knowledge of the salespeople who worked there. I went there ......

DotNetNuke + Windows 7
Yes, I'll admit, I'm a sucker when a new windows operating system comes out. After all, I come from the MS DOS era and witnessed the series of Windows products like version 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 3.1 aka NT, 3.11, 3.5, 95 (remember the lines at the store!), 4.0, 98, 2000, XP, Vista and now 7! After the installation, I quickly noticed how fast the install was. Now, I know this is a BETA version and I was wondering if this was stripped on purpose without the extras loaded in a final copy for this quick install. ......
