Game programming class update

Next week our class will be talking about the taxonomy of games.  I showed students some XNA games and told them that we will be learning XNA by the end of February. Lots of C# learning ahead like decision making, repetition, classes, structs and arrays.

Students will be learning about collision with the Brix Game that they are programming.  They will replace some code to make the bricks disappear upon collision.

Needless to say, the motivation of my students is up and we are moving forward. We have a busy week ahead with a field trip to Otronicon and the LHPS Annual Tech Night.

Yes, I did try using gamemaker with my students several years ago. This software using a scripting language for sprites and I wanted to use a programming language that students could create a 2d game and then deploy the game onto an XBOX which gamemaker can't do.
Thanks.
