Digital Literacy Certificate
Sixty seven of my students have successfully passed the Digital Literacy Certificate exam that was sponsored by Microsoft Corporation. The students had online lessons in the following areas: Computer Basics The Internet and World Wide Web Productivity Programs Computer Security and Privacy Digital Lifestyles Students were required to take an exam that tested their knowledge in these areas. AHOY! Getting ready for Microsoft Academic Days on Game Development
Alfred Thompson who works for Microsoft invited me to go to this event. Alfred is a former high school computer science teacher and I worked with him on the Microsoft Faculty Advisory Board. He works hard promoting high school programming for his company. So why the AHOY? Well, this event is on the Disney Wonder Ship and it sails to Nasseau, Bahamas and the Disney Castaway Island. Orlando, FL Code Camp is next month!

Putting my FOOT forward for VISTA
This week several Microsoft MVP’s volunteered their time to help Microsoft promote VISTA in different retail stores. We were all part of the FOOTS (FEET ON THE STREET) program. To prepare for this event, we all received the necessary training material that was needed so we can review in advance. Annual Technology Night
Tech night 07 was a great success at Lake Highland Prep. There were close to 50 students and parents in attendance to listen to Tom Carbone who is the Technical Director at the Florida Interactive Academy in Orlando. Tom has many years of game programming experience working for Microsoft and Electronic Arts and other companies as well. He spoke on how math and science are used to create video games.
