Using Google Video with your students
Even after teaching for more than 25 years, I'm still looking for ways to engage my students in their learning. Google has a new service where you can search for videos online. There are several videos they I can use with my students that will be helpful to their learning. I started to look at the videos for programming and there are some interesting videos from a developer at Smalltalk talking about OOP to a video put together at a high school programming competition that was interesting as well....

The excitement of the first day of school
I woke up this morning excited that it's the first day of school. Teachers at my school started last week with a multitude of meetings and room preparation. However, today was the first day of school and I'm sure you all can remember the hustle and bustle of getting ready for your first day of school and how anxious or excited that your parents got when you left the house. Today marks my 28th first day! My daughter who was visiting her sister in Washington DC even sent me a text message on my cell...
