DotNetNuke Book Reviews needed
There are several very good DotNetNuke books that are currently available but there are few reviews for those books. I found that to be odd because several people that I know either purchased the book or received it for free at a code camp event or user group meeting. Your review is important to those that might be interested in purchasing the book. Please take the time and effort to support the authors who wrote the books. Tell us what you think. Did you like it? Not like it? Did the book help you?...

DotNetNuke 5 Book is shipped
The journey started seven months ago when I was asked by Wrox if I was interested or if I knew someone that was interested in writing the new DotNetNuke5 book. At that time, I put together an all Florida team with the exception of DotNetNuke founder Shaun Walker. The team consisted of Darrell Hardy, Stan Schultes, and Ryan Morgan. Everyone was committed to the writing of the book and all are extremely knowledgeable. We all have been speaking together at code camps in the Florida area about DotNetNuke....

South Florida Code Camp a Great Success
I arrived in South Florida Friday night after a long drive from Orlando, FL. More specifically it was Friday night traffic, left later than I wanted to, got lost, drove 230 miles, but arrived safely. Got a good night sleep and woke up early today for my presentation at the South Florida Code Camp. Will Strohl, ODUG President, arrived early to setup his video equipment to live stream the DotNetNuke track. You should be able to see all the presentations soon on the ODUG site. Will is super energetic...

South Florida Code Camp on Saturday
I just received an email that there are 72 sessions for this code camp and registrations should break 700. Several years ago, I spoke at this code camp in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the numbers were very impressive. I remember code camps being small and very intimate but the need for knowledge is there and many people come out for them in recent years. I look forward to seeing the co-authors for the new DotNetNuke version 5 book. Darrell Hardy, Ryan Morgan, and Stan Schultes will be presenting at the...

Orlando DotNetNuke User Group Well Represented At The Orlando Code Camp
There were a couple of hundred Code Campers on Saturday in Heathrow, FL at Seminole Community College. The day was jam packed with 56 sessions and 13 tracks. Kudos to Microsoft MVP Shawn Weisfeld for organizing the event and running around to make sure everything was working correctly. Another kudos to Microsoft DevFish Joe Healy for always trying to hook you up with someone he knows that would be a good network contact for you. I heard that the infamous Microsoft Guru Russ Fustino was there but...

Someone threw me a CURVE
Over at the Community Credit website, there are over 8000 geeks who participate in a monthly geek prize for their contribution to the development community. Last month, I happen to place 5th and won a one of a kind 4 hub tape dispenser. David Silverlight who runs this site is very fair on who wins these geeky prizes from month to month so he throws you the curve on points if you are a current winner which keeps the contest fair for others to win. My curve is at 85% and expires at the end of March....

Almost 500 geeks coming to the Orlando Code Camp
Hats off to Shawn Weisfeld and his crew for organizing what seams to be a great upcoming code camp this Saturday at Seminole Community College in Sanford, FL. Shawn is a Microsoft MVP and INETA leader and I saw him in passing last week in Seattle at the MVP Summit. He was chanting code camp, code camp in the halls! To date, there are 478 coming to a great event. There will be 52 Sessions, 38 speakers including 16 MVPs and 9 Authors. Where else can you get that kind of education for free. Here's the...

Orlando, FL Code Camp is next month!
I'll be speaking at this very popular code camp on Saturday, March 24th at Seminole Community College. My session will be on Best Practices to Learn Dotnetnuke. This session is geared toward helping you learn Dotnetnuke. Learn first hand how this Microsoft MVP was able to create a web portal for his students to use. He then developed curriculum for Microsoft Corporation. This curriculum is being used by high school and college students and is available to developers as well. Attend this session and...

Orlando .NET CodeCamp- Saturday, March 25th
The Florida Code Camp is this Saturday and I'm already getting psyched up about it! I'm speaking during one of the sessions and I'm on a panel during the day on various topics related to dotnetnuke. I'll place a link on my blog of the slides that I'll be using. The organizers do an excellent job of putting this together. If you happen to be in town, look us up

What is a CodeCamp?
A Code Camp is basically an all day developer geekfest. There have been several of these CodeCamps in Florida and across the US. I had an opportunity to speak at a Code Camp that was held in Ft. Lauderdale last spring. It was a fun event usually held on a Saturday and its a FREE event too! This year there will be a Code Camp held on Saturday, March 25th at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. Joe Healy from Microsoft has been the leader of the Florida events and the agenda has always...
