Naive stage of Grid computing:
For feature list of Oracle grid computing: look into the link

Philip Brittan, co-founder and chairman of Droplets has his words on Grid computing:
Big platform vendors such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, Oracle and Hewlett-Packard are promoting the panacea of "grid" and "utility" computing.
With grid and utility computing, the major vendors are describing the natural next step in the evolution of IT, and there seems to be little doubt that this model will eventually become the norm. But the immediate challenge is getting customers over the hurdles.

Naïve in the sense it is in very young stage i.e evolving stage, as oracle it self say in Oracle Database 10g Paper #: 40123
“Grid technologies are evolving rapidly. Oracle assures the cost conscious enterprises that their investments in Oracle today will be leveraged for future grid technologies. Oracle possesses the right architecture and has its product“
Think of the future Grid: My Vision :)
When we look inside the grid and its scope, I think future will have some thing like this:
a) Present Grid Technology will be implemented and services will be leveraged and provided by Middle level to higher level companies. (Oracle has agreed this).
b) Future Grid Services will be similar to current hosting services, i.e. If you want to host your site or service it will be hosted in Grid services which will replicate and provide instant access to the user with utilization of nearest grid service.
c) REGIONAL Services: The computing the internationalization ‘n’ will be much easier. Future will have integrated grid database which serve the REGIONAL PARAMETRIC responses.
d) COLLOBARATING GRID COMPUTING: Hey future is yours and many people and companies will approach you and some even pay for your system to attach it to their grid, and it may be for:
a. Educational/Research Grid.
b. Peer-to-Peer Grid.
c. Service providing Grid, (ASP Grids).
d. Enterprise Grids (ERP and CRM integrated).
e) Hygiene Integrated Development: It will become much easier to have centralized hygiene development and grid related development and grid processing.
So what you think, be prepared to be paid for your system J
