Super Bowl ads

According to this, GoDaddy.com's super bowl commercial was supposed to air twice, but the NFL decided during the game to pull the second ad, and Fox went along with it.  Interesting.  I didn't find the ad particularly, well, good...  Attractive women aside, it could have been funnier.  Still, I didn't think it was offensive in any way, and it seems odd that it was pulled after already airing once.

As for the rest of them, I thought Ameriquest ads were the funniest.  The Pepsi/iTunes spots were great too.  I actually missed the MSN Search ad when it aired, but watched it here.  Not bad.  I thought the whole “Go to Fox.com to try it out“ thing they mentioned several times was a great idea.

On the whole, I think the advertisers have lost their touch over the last few years.  There hasn't been anything like the VW ads of a few years ago (the Golf stuck in the tree?  the shopping cart tackle?), the “paper or plastic“, or the Budweiser frogs in years.  I don't even remember a single ad from the last super bowl.  You know, except for the Janet Jackson one.
