Slides and Scripts from DogFood Conference 2014

I was pleased to once again speak at the Dog Food Conference here in Columbus, OH. I believe this is the 3rd year that I have spoken and the 4th or 5th year that I have attended. The venue has moved to a more spacious location which definitely helped with giving attendees, speakers, and vendors more room to spread out, I was especially happy to meet up with dozens of previous customers and co-workers at the conference. This really is a great mix of audiences (developers, IT pros, and business users), ......

It has been a couple years since I last attended / spoke at Dog Food Conference, but on Nov 21-22, 2013 I’ll be speaking at Dog Food Conference 2013 here in Columbus, OH. Registration is now open (registration link) and is expected to sell out ......

Speaking at SharePoint Cincy 2013

I will be speaking at SharePoint Cincy 2013 on Friday Apr 19th. This will be my 2nd time speaking at SharePoint Cincy. I’ll be presenting one topic which I have delivered a similar presentation internally to Microsoft but this is slightly altered and for public consumption. Registration is still open. If you attend feel free to stop ......

PowerShell Script to Create PowerShell Profile

Utilizing a PowerShell profile can help any PowerShell user save time getting up and running with their work. For those unfamiliar a PowerShell profile is a file you can store any PowerShell commands that you want to run when you fire up a PowerShell console (or ISE.) In my typical profiles (example here) I load assemblies (like SharePoint 2007 DLL), set aliases, set environment variable values (such as max history), and perform other general customizations to make my work easier. Below is a sample ......

Here’s a quick recap of the conference with links at the bottom to the many pictures and videos that I took. Arriving Heading out to CA was a bit of a struggle. ......

Windows 7, SharePoint 2010, and Events I’m Speaking At Coming Up

As most of the technology world knows (and even the general public thanks to commercials like the one below… who doesn’t love unicorns, kittens and rainbows) Windows 7 is releasing to the public on Oct 22, 2009. Normally this would get me very excited except that I’ve been running Windows 7 RTM as the primary boot on my home desktop and as the secondary boot on my work laptop for a few months now. I didn’t get much chance to use Vista over the past few years (client workstations with XP, working ......

Attended CINNUG ORM FireStarter event

Been a little while since my last blog post. For awhile I was busy preparing my presentation for the COSPUG Show-N-Tell event and then recently working extra hours for some releases to testing and UAT at my client. That aside I’m ready to get back to some more regular posts. Yesterday myself and a coworker Peter travelled down to Mason, OH for the CINNUG (Cincinnati .Net User Group) ORM FireStarter event. This was a full day event talking about various ORMs (object relational mapping) frameworks ......
