November 2004 Entries

My visit with the RHQ (Regional Headquarters) in Singapore has been great.  Lots of great stuff happening in Asia Pacific as far as developer community goes. Other extra highlights have been the fact that Steve Ballmer visited the office today and was motivating as usual and the beautiful view from the new offices here.  So, I have been spoiled this week since I do not even have a window in Redmond - well, one looking out to the hallway.

Here is what they get to look at in Singapore everyday!

And Morris thinks he has it good in Cabo!  Take a look here

It is the one year anniversary of my blog!  I just realized it so technically I missed it considering it is the 11th here in Tokyo.  I wanted to take the quick opportunity to thanks Jeff for all the work he has done to make sure that GeeksWithBlogs is the best that it can be.  I hope that over the next year I can keep my blog going and interesting for all of you who read it. I want to get back to my old posting amount and that will be my new blog year resolution!
I am currently sitting in my temporary desk cube in our Microsoft offices in Japan.  I have a view of Takashimaya - the big department store across the street and one corner of billboards.  It is really wonderful to get to meet everyone here in person and learn more about their developer community work in Japan.  A few interesting things have been the fact that vending machine cups are pink and carry the message“Your potential. Our passion.”  Ours in Redmond are orange and just have the Microsoft logo.  Of course the vending machine itself here is much more efficient with the hot and cold drinks dispensed like the coffee/hot chocolate machines in the states.
This is fantastic!  Christian blogged this wonderful newsINETA Europe has grown - Congratulations to all the user groups in INETA EMEA - they are now over 100 groups strong.
