Ever Labor Day brings a tidal wave of music to the Seattle Center in the form of Bumbershoot. (Yes, it is a silly name but it can be taken seriously!) This overwhelming four day festival of every kind of music imaginable takes over the halls, lawns and stadiums around the Space Needle and attracts thousands to sing, dance and wait patiently in lines. I went down for the last day of the cacophony of sounds and indulged in some music and food. In an afternoon, I saw the Marley Brothers (Ziggy, Stephen, et al), Nick Lowe (who I have gotten to see play with Elvis Costello before), Little Charlie and the Nightcats and Galactic. All the festival fare you can imagine is available including
Ballard Bros. blackened salmon burgers! Yummy! I wish I had been feeling better earlier in the weekend because I would have seen lots more. Next year, looking forward to it already.
