The Heroes season finale was last night. As
D'Arcy stated, in some ways it was anti-climatic.
**Spoiler warning**
First of all, I, like D'Arcy, expected a knockdown battle at the end. Instead, we had the infamous "Star Trek" ending, popularized by ST:TNG, where something would happen in the first ten minutes of the episode and Picard and crew would talk about it, usually in the briefing room, for 50 minutes, then Data or Wesley would save the day using tech, all in the last five minutes.
Heroes wasn't quite that bad, but with ten minutes left, I was wondering how they were going to do the "battle of the century" in that amount of time.
Unfortunately the plot holes were many. Sylar just stood there as Peter boiled. Hiro appears, says "Sylar I'm going to kill you", then approached Sylar from fifteen feet away. And Sylar did nothing! Very atypical.
Finally, Nathan flies Peter up into the air, even though Peter could fly himself!
So many of these things insult our intelligence and break rules set down earlier by the show.
Heroes has been an intelligent show and easily the best show this year. I can't remember the last time I cared about a show. But the finale seemed rushed (writing wise), and could have easily been two hours long. After the future episode a couple of weeks ago, I expected so much more. I find myself dissatisfied.
