Last night I got to try the Wii at a friend's house. Never before have I seen a game (system) that is so intuitive and fun right out of the box.
Usually the wives won't even watch us play video games (except for Guitar Hero). As soon as we mention video games they are off doing something else in the other room. But my friend started up Wii Sports and it was intriguing and brought us all in. Setting up the Mii character gave us alot of laughs as we discussed the personal attributes for our Mii characters. Bowling, in particular, was engrossing, picking up every flick of the wrist and adding spin to the ball. It was instantly accessible and the wives were giving us a run for the money. Next came Boxing, which added alot of head-to-head fun, complete with trash talk, for several hours.
Sure the graphics are not drop dead gorgeous, but the game play is fun all around. Three cheers to Nintendo for the Wii!
