Looking back on this year, I haven't posted much since the Geeks with Blogs Game Contest last summer.

I am working as a Project Manager on a security accreditation project at work. Obviously I can't post much on that since I would be compromising the NDA. Doesn't leave me much about work to talk about, although I love using Microsoft Project.

I have six months left on an MBA, which takes some time in the evenings and weekends.

I wish I was more like George Clingerman and his XNA3Way buddies (despite the somewhat embarassing title/reference). I think XNA sounds cool. Unfortunately my heavily myopic eyes just can't stare at a screen all day long and then do it some more while cranking code at night.

So what is left to do? After exercising my left brain for twenty years I have been getting more in touch with my under-developed right brain.

I bought a DigiDesign MBox2 home recording studio setup with Pro Tools software and I have been writing and recording a progressive "rock opera", PilgrimsProg based on the classic book Pilgrim's Progress. I find that recording is also very programmatic, especially when arranging song segments and drum loops.

Often I find "reading for pleasure" to be a nice respite from work and school.

Hey I'm into progressive rock as well. Protools now works with Windows?

Yes, the new version 7.1 works pretty well. You need to have a hefty machine and it basically can't have anything else loaded on it or the drivers take up your cycles. But it works well with the MBox.

You lost me at "I love using Microsoft Project". :)

Okay, maybe "I LOVE Microsoft Project" was too extreme. "Love" is too evocative to describe it.
