As Chaz noted, Joel Spolsky from Joel On Software has started a niche job board. To go along with that he has been posting his ideas of what development and development recruiting should be like. He has a very interesting post on Field Guide for Developers. Advice like "treat developers like stars", buy them the best equipment, Areon chairs with fins, fly them first class. What friggin' bizarro alternate universe is this in?

When the executive's secretary gets a new 19" monitor before anyone in the company, much less developers (and you know why), you know you ain't there.

In an age of "IT Doesn't Matter", is there even anyplace like this (besides Joel's biz)?
