I started working on the character cards for the game. Because I will have limited artwork, I am limiting the number of character cards to 15. There will be 7 common cards, 6 rare cards, and 2 ultra rare cards. The rare and ultra rare cards will be named cards - heroes if you will. The common cards will actually be multipled in the deck based on a multiplier that I am creating in the app.config of the game. That way I won't run out of cannon fodder during battles.
Here are my characters so far. Some are cheesy, and the hit points will need to be adjusted for gameplay. Note the nods to pop culture (or maybe 80's pop culture) in some of them. Angela Death is from the old C64 game Wasteland. These characters are all stored in an XML file.

Name: "Saint" Niccolai
ATTACK=3, DEFENSE=4 HP=15
Weapon: Dagger with a cross-shaped handle
HISTORY: "Saint" is a pseudo-telepath. He can't control others with his mind, but he has a heightened anticipation. He can "feel" what an opponent is going to do, leading to a high dexterity and defense.
- Name: Simon "Rock" Riccola
ATTACK=4, DEFENSE=3, HP=15
Weapon:Rock hammer
HISTORY: Rock is one of the inmates released from prison when a land baron took over the prison to turn it into a fortress. Rock still carries the rock hammer he used on the chain gang.
- Name: Spry Nimble
ATTACK=3, DEFENSE=6, HP=15
Weapon: Razor wire
HISTORY: Spry is a highly flexible acrobat. Her reflexes and speed make her have a very high dexterity, resulting in a high defense.
- Name: Bongo
ATTACK=12, DEFENSE=12, HP=40
Weapon: Steel Club HISTORY: Bongo was genetically bred to be the perfect mindless infantryman for the war. His skin is almost bulletproof. His intelligence is reflected in his name.

Weapon: Double handed falx
HISTORY: Alex carries a falx, a long polearm with a curved blade at the end. The long blade affords no shield or significant armor protection. He can block attacks with the staff part of the weapon, however.
- Melody Morningstar
ATTACK=6, DEFENSE=4, HP=20
Weapon: Poison dipped "Gudendag"
HISTORY: Melody's spiked morningstar is called "Gudendag", Flemish for "Good Day". The poisoned spikes could break off in the enemy.
