Enhacements in Yukon & XAML

A nice article by Stephen Forte on SqlJunkies Sql Server Yukon T-Sql enhacements.
I particularly like the feature of CTE (Common Table Expressions) and their use recursively.

Don & Chris have put together a special holiday MSDNTV show where they showcase how XAML can be used not only to describe UI of an LH application but also how one can use XAML to write normal applications.

one of the things I noticed developers new to longhorn ask me or probably think is XAML is totally markup you cannot be developing mix mode code (XAML + your fav. CLR language) but I remember a long time post of don where he happened to give a sample Hello World app written entirely in XAML (I happened to do the similar thing but I could not get it to compile) Reading further the same post I found that you need to write a MSBuild target to define the right way to build the app.

The MSDNTV episode makes it clear that you can do all this pretty fine. Altogether an excellent episode (ofcourse their is the funny part to it also.. ;)
