So today's my birthday, and I realized a baby born when I was twenty is now a legal adult... ugh....
At least my wife got me some cool tools:

That's three air nailers, brads, finishing, and framing all in one (heavy) case.... Very nice. Costco if you're interested, good deal. All three for about the price of one finishing nailer. And don't bother to search for this combo online. Seems that it's a Costco only deal.
One other note: talking to my Mom today she said, "Thank god your birthday isn't tomorrow, wouldn't that be sad to have been born on 9/11."
Actually my brother in law (a firefighter no less) was born on 9/11, and he no longer really celebrates his birthday.
Thinking about that later I realized that's exactly the attitude we should NOT have. Thousands (tens of? hundreds of?) of people have a 9/11 birthday, and others were born on 9/11/2001 no less. Sure something really sad happened on that day, but other wonderful things happened to. Don't let those terrorists take a whole day away from us. Sure take a moment to reflect on those poor souls who lost their lives that day, but take much more than a moment to celebrate those who were born on that day. Sad things happen every day, tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, violence, crime, but we pick ourselves up and we move on.
Move on America, reflect, remember, but also celebrate because right now there are five year olds that need a great birthday, free from politics, free from sadness, free from grown-up worries.
People don't choose they day they are born, so whatever day that is, celebrate it. In that way we live on, we return to normal, we win.
